VIRUSES AND EMOTIONALLY WEAKEND IMMUNE SYSTEM

Focusing on gratitude and positivity is crucial for keeping your immune system strong.

As I mentioned in my earlier article titled “The role of stress in health and disease”, our emotions have a major impact on our overall health.

In this article, I would like to remind you of this and emphasize why it is even more important that we consciously focus on positivity and gratitude in this time of confusion and media-generated fear about Coronavirus.

CORONAVIRUS IS A RESPIRATORY DISEASE THAT IS CAUSED BY A VIRUS AND AFFECTS THE LUNGS

Viruses thrive in low vibrational resonant frequencies. Viruses are not living organisms and cannot survive without a host or in an environment of higher frequency.

  • Negative emotions such as Fear, Anger, Sadness, Frustration, Apathy, Resentment, resonate on low frequencies (between 20-100 Hz)
  • Positive emotions such as Gratitude, Love, Optimism, Compassion, resonate at high frequencies (between 200 – 540 Hz) – HIGH RESONANT FREQUENCIES STRENGTHEN THE IMMUNE SYSTEM

Lungs according to Chinese medicine are weakened by the emotions of SADNESS, DEPRESSION, GUILT, GRIEF, REGRET, APATHY, and THE INABILITY TO LET GO OFF THE PAST AND BE HAPPY. Feeling a spectrum of emotions is absolutely natural, however, the body’s physiology gets affected when we hold on to, or suppress these emotions.

Lungs are connected to nose and throat and are considered the first line of defense against pathogens such as cold viruses. Hence if the lungs are weakened their defensive function will be significantly lowered. Deficiency in lung qi (vital energy) is also linked to a weak immune system.

What can you do to improve the function of your immune system and lung defenses?

  • Practice gratitude. Every day, write down at least 5 things you are grateful for. Open your eyes to the good little things in your life. These will often be things you have taken for granted, like your body’s amazing wisdom to breathe on its own for example.
  • Practice acceptance, optimism, and positivity. For our experience in this world, the opposites must exist. These are the Yin & Yang of the universe. How could you appreciate the daylight without the darkness of the night? How could you appreciate love without the experience of the opposite? There is a learning in every situation we deem negative.
  • Don’t overstimulate yourself with news as they mostly emphasize fear and negativity.
  • Listen to 528 Hz music. It has been proven to significantly lower stress lowering salivary cortisol (the stress hormone) and increasing the levels of oxytocin (the love hormone). We know that the body can only heal when it is in a parasympathetic nervous system – the relaxation state.
  • Focus on breathing into your belly allowing for full comfortable inhale and complete comfortable exhale. Deep breathing will help to switch on the relaxation response on the neurological level.
  • Exercise. Exercising releases the “good feel” hormones in our body. There are plenty of available exercise videos online for you to explore from the comfort of your home. Yoga especially has been proven to reduce stress.
  • Meditate – going inwards helps us to connect to the infinite inner peace that we are in our core. The whole world is slowing down as most of the world is on quarantine. This is the perfect time to slow your mind and reflect on your life.
  • Stimulate these acupressure points to tone the lungs and the immune system:

LU-9 (Lung)

  • This point is directly related to relieving cough, asthma, sore throat, pain in the chest and heart palpitations. It helps to ease phlegm and clears the lungs.

LU-1 (Lung)

  • This point is useful for all lung issues, especially cough, wheezing, asthma and fullness in the chest.

LI-4 (Large Intestine)

  • In Chinese medicine large intestine is energetically paired with the lungs and gets affected by the same emotions. Free qi or energy flow within the large intestine meridian helps to build immunity.

  • Stimulating this point will alleviate headaches, head colds, allergies causing rhinitis, sore throat, toothaches and jaw pains.

ST-36 (Stomach)

  • ST-36 (Stomach) – Toning the stomach point will help to support all other systems. This point is commonly used to treat shortness of breath, chills and fever, fatigue, hypertension, depression, chest fullness, and palpitations.

Your body is super smart and knows how to heal naturally. Establish a daily practice of gratitude for its innate healing wisdom and power. Your cells are listening and responding to your words and your thoughts! Your body continuously creates billions of new cells to replace old or damaged cells. Let’s be grateful!
